SPECIAL MEETING OF STATE'S NATURAL RESOURCES BOARD TO ELECT CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN; BOARD TO CONFIRM NEW SUPERVISOR FOR DNR

 OLYMPIA, Wash., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington State Board of Natural Resources will hold a special meeting to elect a new chair and vice chair, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said today. The board also will consider the confirmation of Commissioner of Public Lands Jennifer M. Belcher's appointment of Kaleen Cottingham as department supervisor. The special meeting will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. in conference room 172, first floor of the Natural Resources Building, 1111 Washington St., in Olympia.
 The Board of Natural Resources consists of six members: the governor or the governor's designee, the superintendent of public instruction, the commissioner of public lands, the dean of the college of forest resources of the University of Washington, the dean of the college of agriculture of Washington State University, and a representative of those counties that contain forest board lands. Current members are Gov. Michael Lowry, Superintendent Judith Billings, Commissioner Belcher, Dr. David Thorud, Dr. Lawrence E. Schrader and Clallam County Commissioner Dorothy Duncan.
 Following election of a new chair and vice chair, and confirmation of a new department supervisor, the board will receive a series of reports from DNR staff and the state Attorney General's Office detailing certain duties and current issues being faced by the department.
