SPEC'S MUSIC, INC. ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR COCONUT GROVE SUPERSTORE

 MIAMI, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Spec's Music, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPEK) announced today that it has signed a lease for a 25,000-square-foot Spec's Music "superstore" that will open next year in Coconut Grove across from Cocowalk. This store will showcase Spec's new store prototype and will feature more than 70,000 music and video titles, 100 music listening posts, information kiosks, and other innovative entertainment technologies.
 The new superstore is one of eight new stores Spec's Music, Inc. that will be opening through the end of 1994. Spec's Music will occupy the first and second story of a 35,000-square-foot building at 2892 Grand Ave. that is being developed by the Comras Company. The Coconut Grove store will become one of the largest music stores in South Florida and will contain almost three times the average product selection.
 "Coconut Grove will be our new flagship store," explained Ann Spector Lieff, president and chief executive officer. "It will showcase all the features and conveniences we've incorporated into the new store design that we're now introducing throughout our chain and building into all our new stores."
 Facing Grand Avenue with a bright and inviting glass facade in the heart of "The Grove," the store is expected to open in November 1994, in time for the holiday selling season. "This store will provide customers with a complete shopping experience," explained Lieff, noting that they'll find more than 70,000 titles, listening posts where hit songs and new releases can be previewed, music related boutiques and apparel and a comprehensive children's entertainment section. "Coconut Grove is one of Miami's most dynamic entertainment, tourist and shopping communities," stated Lieff. With this new store, Spec's will be an integral part of this exciting community, she explained.
 Spec's Music, Inc., founded in 1948 by Martin W. Spector with a single store in South Miami, is the largest specialty music retailer in Florida's most important markets, including Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and the state's eastern Gold Coast. The company currently operates 53 stores in Florida and four in Puerto Rico.
