 SPACE SHUTTLE ATLANTIS TO ARRIVE ATOP 747, OCT. 18
 NASA's space shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to arrive at


Rockwell's Palmdale, Calif., facility on Sunday, Oct. 18, mated to the Boeing 747 shuttle carrier aircraft. The current schedule calls for arrival at about 2 p.m. PDT. See important note concerning schedule.
 Arrival at Palmdale will be open to the media.
 News media attending the orbiter/SCA arrival should arrive at Rockwell on Oct. 18 between 12:30 p.m. and 12:50 p.m. with proper press credentials. Availability will end 20 minutes following landing. Latecomers will not be accommodated.
 IMPORTANT NOTE: Schedule for landing may change.
 Recorded schedule information will be available over the weekend at 310-922-5227. Landing delay will change media arrival times.

 (DIRECTIONS: I-14 north to Ave. M exit. Turn east onto Ave. M, cross Sierra Highway, proceed approximately 1 mile and watch for sign on right "Site 1, USAF Plant 42." Turn right at sign, proceed to guard stand, Rockwell-SSD is first left after guard.)
