SOUTHWEST AIRLINES REPORTS TRAFFIC UP 21.6 PERCENT

 DALLAS, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Herbert D. Kelleher, chairman of the board and president of Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV), announced today that the company flew 1,154.4 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January 1993, a 21.6 percent increase over the 949.4 million RPMs flown in January of last year. Available seat miles (ASMs) increased 14.0 percent to 1,889.0 million from the January 1992 level of 1,657.4 million. The load factor for the month was 61.1 percent, up 3.8 points from 1992.
