SOUTHWEST AIRLINES REPORTS RECORD BOARDINGS

 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) announced today a new all-time boarding record: 21,360 local customers were boarded in Columbus during the month of October 1993.
 The carrier's October passenger boardings are a 46.1 percent increase over October 1992's boarding figure of 14,617.
 Southwest Airlines offers five daily departures from Columbus to Chicago's Midway Airport and three daily departures to St. Louis, with direct or connecting service to 20 additional cities.
 Southwest has earned the industry's "Triple Crown" 14 times and is the first and only major airline to capture the award for its 1992 performance, based on statistics published in the Department of Transportation (DOT) Air Travel Consumer Reports. The "Triple Crown" consists of the best ontime performance, best baggage handling record, and fewest customer complaints of all major U.S. carriers. Southwest operates nearly 1,500 flights a day with an all-jet fleet of 157 Boeing 737s.
