SOUTHWEST AIRLINES OFFERS DOUBLE COMPANY CLUB CREDIT
SOUTHWEST AIRLINES OFFERS DOUBLE COMPANY CLUB CREDIT CHICAGO, Dec. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV)
announced today that it will offer double COMPANY CLUB credit for flights taken into or out of Chicago.
"Southwest Airlines has made a strong commitment to building service in and out of Chicago's Midway Airport," said Colleen Barrett, the carrier's executive vice president-customers. "We want our customers to realize the advantages and convenience of using the Southwest-side airport." Southwest customers who are already members of the COMPANY CLUB will earn double credit every time they fly into or out of Midway Airport. Members of the program present their COMPANY CLUB card to the customer service agent when they pick up their boarding pass. Double credit will be automatically calculated and recorded in the COMPANY CLUB system as one regular credit plus one bonus credit. Double credit will be reflected in the member's quarterly COMPANY CLUB statement. COMPANY CLUB applicants must present their application form when they pick up their boarding pass at Chicago Midway Airport. The customer service agent will double stamp their form for the departing segment out of Midway. Applicants will only be eligible for double COMPANY CLUB credit on flights out of Chicago Midway. All Southwest Airlines customers not already applicants or members of the COMPANY CLUB may pick up an application form at any Southwest ticket counter and receive double credit every time they fly out of Midway Airport. Double credit applies to all revenue tickets. Award travel and other free travel does not qualify. Stops and/or connections at Midway Airport do not qualify for double credit. Double credit will be given through Feb. 29, 1992. "Southwest Airlines has the most flights daily out of Midway Airport," said Barrett. "We are simply bringing to light the fact that users of Midway can continue to use the airport with no loss of service or convenience." The COMPANY CLUB is Southwest Airlines' frequent flyer program which bases awards on the number of trips taken, regardless of mileage. Only 10 roundtrips are needed for membership and the first award -- a roundtrip ticket to any Southwest destination. An additional award is earned for every eight roundtrips completed thereafter. -0- 12/16/91 /CONTACT: Melanie Jones of Southwest Airlines, 214-904-4413/ (LUV) CO: Southwest Airlines ST: Illinois IN: AIR SU: PS -- NY094 -- 2744 12/16/91 18:16 EST
