SOUTHERN NATURAL GAS COMPANY ANNOUNCES REDEMPTION OF 10 PERCENT NOTES
 BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Natural Gas Company today announced that all of its outstanding 10 percent Notes due Dec. 31, 1995, will be redeemed on Feb. 21, 1992, at 101.429 percent of the principal amount of the Debentures plus accrued interest. The redemption price and accrued interest will be paid to Debenture holders upon surrender of Debentures to the Trustee, Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company, New York, N.Y.
 Southern Natural Gas Company, a Birmingham, Ala.-based subsidiary of Sonat Inc. (NYSE: SNT), operates an 8,600-mile natural gas pipeline system serving the Southeast. Sonat, also headquartered in Birmingham, is a worldwide energy company involved in natural gas transmission and marketing, oil and gas exploration and production, and oil services.
