SOUTHERN HIGH SCHOOL AND GRACE DAVISON SIGN EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

 BALTIMORE, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern High School and the Grace Davison unit of W. R. Grace & Co. (NYSE: GRA) today signed an educational partnership agreement. The partnership aims to increase students' interest in science and math, and to encourage them to pursue high post-secondary educational goals.
 Over the next five years, W. R. Grace & Co., through Grace Davison, will provide $150,000 in scholarships, incentives and other resources to improve the overall quality of education at Southern High School. In addition to monetary support, the chemicals company will encourage employee volunteers to assist in science instruction at the school. Principal Cecilia Chesno stated, "The ultimate objective of the partnership is to bring public and private resources together to better prepare our students to enter college or the workplace."
 Grace Davison President James Hyde added, "Industry has a vested interest in ensuring that a pool of qualified future employees is available. It makes good business sense for us to work together and mutually seek means to encourage our youth to complete their education and preparation for the workplace."
 Partnership objectives also include exposing students to non-college degree employment opportunities, helping them to develop marketable job skills and creating a team of students, parents, teachers, administrators and company representatives to measure results and plan future initiatives.
 Grace Davison is a subsidiary of W. R. Grace & Co., the world's largest specialty chemicals company with a leadership position in specialized health care.
