 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON'S FLOAT, 'MORE THAN MAGIC'
 TO BE ON PUBLIC DISPLAY, SATURDAY, NOV. 7
 Experience Southern California Edison's "More Than Magic", as the first solar-animated electric-powered float in the history of the Tournament of Roses Parade takes a test drive. This is the first public demonstration of the revolutionary spheral solar cells developed by Edison and Texas Instruments. The float, which is entirely powered by electric batteries for a clean environment -- supports a gigantic magician who holds up to the sun his crystal ball -- spinning with the aid of high-tech, energy-producing solar cells.

 WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 7
 7:00 a.m. sharp
 WHERE: Fiesta Parade Floats
 505 W. Foothill Blvd.
 Azusa

 WHO:
 -- Raul Rodriguez, award-winning float designer, in his
 magician's costume
 -- Michael Merlo, SCE Manager of Research, will describe the
 solar process
 -- Tournament of Roses officials
 VISUAL: As the all-electric powered float takes a test drive, reporters will see the sun shining on 127 state-of-the-art spheral solar cells as they help provide the power that spins the the magician's crystal ball.
 A solar demonstration and a videotape of the solar animation will be available. Also, the electric battery system will be on display.
