 SOUTH CAROLINA NATIONAL ELECTS BANK PRESIDENT
 COLUMBIA, S.C., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of


South Carolina National has elected W.D. (Doug) King as president of the bank.
 His new responsibilities will be to manage all of the consumer and small business banking areas of South Carolina National as weLl as the administrative units that support these areas. SCN operates in 75 South Carolina markets.
 The Board of Directors has also elected Donald K. Truslow as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of South Carolina National Bank. Truslow's responsibilities will be to oversee all areas of credit administration and to serve as a member of the South Carolina National Executive Committee.
 "Doug King's appointment as president and Don Truslow's appointment as chief credit officer emphasize the importance South Carolina National Bank is placing on serving deposit and loan needs in its local communities," said James G. Lindley, chairman of SCN.
 "With Doug's leadership, SCN will continue its focus on matching SCN's financial services with individual and business needs of South Carolinians," said Lindley. "The direction he has provided as vice chairman has resulted in a record of sales and service quality at SCN for which we are quite proud and which I am sure will continue to improve."
 King is a native of Bennettsville and a graduate of Wake Forest University and the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He is chairman of the Southeastern ATM Switch and on the board of directors of Cirrus System, Inc.
 King was the charter president of the South Carolina Automated Clearing House Association and served on that board until 1984. He joined First National of South Carolina in 1963 and at the time of the merger with SCN became an executive vice president.
 Truslow formerly served as senior vice president and loan administration manager for the Central Division of Wachovia Bank of North Carolina in Greensboro. He is a native of Summit, N.J., and a graduate of the University of Virginia. He joined Wachovia in 1980 an has worked in International Banking, Corporate Services and Loan Administration.
