SOUTH CAROLINA NATIONAL BANK ANNOUNCES GAME OF LOANS

COLUMBIA, S.C., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Banking has become more interesting these days at South Carolina National Bank because of the Game of Loans, a new consumer campaign that gives South Carolinians the opportunity to win money, prizes, interest-free loans and discounts off SCN loan products.
Anyone can play. And just by filling out an entry blank available at any SCN branch, consumers can also enter a sweepstakes drawing for a Caribbean cruise. Anyone who receives a special game card is entitled to percentages off approved loans at SCN, and some participants will also receive discounts on other bank services such as free safe deposit rental for a year.
The Game of Loans is a sequel to SCN's recent consumer-education advertising campaign called the Book of Loans. "We hope the Book of Loans provided South Carolinians with the information they want and need about consumer credit," said Charles T. Cole, Jr., director of Community Banking. "Now we want to show the advantages of SCN's loan products while providing an interesting way for South Carolinians to win some great prizes."
"The Game of Loans is an interesting way for people to get to know South Carolina National, and for us to let people know that SCN has money to lend to qualified applicants," Cole added.
The Game of Loans began today February 16 and continues through April 23. In addition to South Carolina National branches, game cards are also available through the mail. SCN customers will receive game pieces in their checking and credit card statements.
To reveal a prize, the player scratches off boxes on the game cards, and looks for matching prizes. Loan discount prizes include some interest-free loans, and discounts on installment loans or Premium Line (home equity) loans. A second part of the game includes prizes such as certificates of deposit, U.S. Savings Bonds, free checks, free safe deposit box rent for a year, and cash awards.
And the grand prize -- a seven-day, six-night Caribbean cruise -- will be awarded through a random drawing at the end of the Game of Loans. Players may deposit their entries into a box at any SCN branch or mail their entries to a designated address to be included in the cruise drawing. Game cards, up to one per month, can be obtained at any South Carolina National branch, or by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to SCN Game Card Request, P.O. Box 99549, Raleigh, N.C. 27624.
