SOSI celebrates 20th anniversary. (Industry News).

* The Sense of Smell institute (SOSI) celebrated its 20th anniversary Nov. 28 with the theme "2001: A sensory odyssey" at its annual Night of Honors at the Pierre Hotel, New York, NY. The event honored visionaries in aromachology and olfactory research from industry and academia. The event raised $100,000 to help support SOSI's ongoing research and educational programs. Aveda won the Corporate Vision award for its Desert Flower aromachology collection. Dr. Martha McClintoch, professor of psychology at the University of Chicago, received the Henry G. Walter Sense of Smell award for her pioneering research on the human behavioral basis for pheromone detection and discrimination. The Richard B. Soloman award was presented to perfumer and author Mandy Aftel for her book "Essence and Alchemy: A Book of Perfume."
