SONY AND SPRINT TELL CONSUMERS 'IT'S TIME TO TALK'; CONSUMERS CAN

RECEIVE UP TO TWO HOURS OF FREE LONG DISTANCE CALLING FROM SPRINT
 KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- With competition for customers stronger than ever in the telecommunications service and product markets, Sony and Sprint (NYSE: FON) are launching an "It's Time To Talk" promotion. The value-added promotion offers consumers up to two hours of free Sprint long distance calling with the purchase of a Sony telephone or answering machine.
 The offer applies to Sony corded and cordless telephones, answering machines and integrated telephone answering devices. Every consumer who purchases one of these products through Dec. 31, 1992, will receive a Sprint FONCARD with up to two hours of free long distance calling time.
 "Strong value-added promotions have already proven successful in many electronics categories," said Michael Lang, director of Sony's Telecommunications Products Division. "We are confident that this promotion, in conjunction with our strongest product line ever, will drive sales to record levels in 1992."
 "Sprint and Sony are two companies with high name recognition and reputations for quality in the telecommunications industry," said Dave Schmieg, president of Sprint's Consumer Services Group.
 "This promotion is an innovative way to reinforce the two companies' strengths in the marketplace in the eyes of consumers."
