SONIC SOLUTIONS AND DIGIDESIGN TO OFFER PRO SPATIALIZER(R) 3-D AUDIO PROCESSING

 NEW YORK, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Spatializer Audio Laboratories Inc. announced today at the 95th Audio Engineering Society Convention that Sonic Solutions of San Rafael, Calif,. plans to offer its PRO Spatializer(R) 3-D audio processing as a Sonic FX option for the Sonic System digital audio workstation.
 Sonic Solutions manufactures sophisticated digital audio workstations for professional audio applications which include high- speed graphics editing, mixing and signal processing, with 16- to 24-bit resolution. With Sonic Solutions workstations, edits are always nondestructive, and all crossfades, EQ and mixing are done in real time. The Sonic System is the worldwide de facto standard for CD premastering and audio restoration.
 Separately, the company also announced development of a 3-D plug-in option for the Digidesign Pro Tools system to work with the new TDM (Time Division Multiplexed) digital audio bus. Digidesign, located in Menlo Park, Calif., has the industry's largest user base of disc-based recording and editing systems. Its Pro Tools multitrack digital audio production system combines multitrack digital audio recording and editing, digital signal processing, MIDI sequencing and automated digital mixing in a digital audio workstation based on the Macintosh(R) II platform. Pro Tools offers from four to 16 channels of digital audio recording and playback with oversampling analog inputs and support for both AES-EBU and S/PDIF digital formats.
 Pro Spatializer(R) is a multitrack real-time audio processor that permits spatial expansion, dynamic sound movement and localization in three-dimensional space. Utilizing standard stereo playback, Spatializer may be used in every phase of audio production and the effect is maintained throughout all stages of recording, re-recording and post-production. The finished product is mono-compatible, surround sound-compatible, requires no decoding and introduces no broadcast transmission problems.
