SONIC NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
SONIC NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING OKLAHOMA CITY, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonic Corp.
(NASDAQ-NMS: SONC), parent company of the Oklahoma City-based Sonic Drive-In franchisor and operator, today announced the resignation of Keith Sutterfield, vice president of Marketing, effective May 31, 1992.
Sutterfield is retiring from the position he has held for the past seven years. He will remain with the company in a consultant role during the coming year. "Keith's contribution to the growth and success of the Sonic chain has been very significant," Robert P. Flack, executive vice president and chief operating officer, said. "He will remain accessible to management for information and project work." Pattye Tackett Moore, APR, has been named to succeed Sutterfield as Sonic's vice president of Marketing effective June 1, 1992. Moore brings with her more than 12 years of experience in planning, developing and implementing marketing, advertising and public relations programs. Most recently, she has been servicing as vice president, Operations for Advertising Inc., a Tulsa, Okla.-based advertising agency. In that position, she served as account supervisor for Sonic Industries Inc., Bank of Oklahoma, CIS Technologies Inc. and the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A member of the agency's board of directors and executive committee, Moore also held agency operational and strategic management responsibilities. She has also been affiliated with The Williams Companies in Tulsa and Williams' subsidiary, Edgcomb Metals Co. Moore is an accredited (APR) member of the Public Relations Society of America. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Moore is on the board of trustees for the National Arthritis Foundation and the chairman of its public relations committee. She is also past chairman and served on the board of directors for the Eastern Oklahoma Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and Junior Achievement. She is also a member of Leadership Tulsa and the Public Relations Society of America. "We're pleased to add Pattye to our staff at Sonic Corp.," Flack said. "She brings an incredible amount of expertise to our marketing staff." Moore will oversee Sonic's Marketing, Advertising, Corporate Communications, and Field Marketing departments. Sonic began in 1953 as a single root beer stand in Shawnee, Okla. Today, the chain has more than 1,140 drive-in restaurants in 23 states and is the nation's fifth largest hamburger chain.
