SOFTWATCH INTRODUCES SRS 2.2, OFFERING SUPPORT OF ORACLE; GIVES HEALTH COMPANIES NEW E-BUSINESS FLEXIBILITY.

SoftWatch (www.softwatch.com), a provider of Internet relationship management software for the healthcare industry, has launched SoftWatch Relationship Server (SRS) 2.2, eCRM platform technology for healthcare e-business and e-marketing.

SRS 2.2 supports the Oracle 8i database, an important expansion over the platform's existing support of Microsoft SQL server 6.5 and 7.0. Many health companies use Oracle; SoftWatch's updated server makes its easier for these companies to work within their enterprise-wide solutions in considering e-business and e-marketing technology options.

"The healthcare industry is moving away from Web sites that function independently as "silos" towards a single, unified architecture for maximizing business resources and knowledge sharing across the enterprise, and SRS 2.2 responds to this important market development," said Asaf Evenhaim, President and Chief Operating Officer of SoftWatch.

Support for Oracle is another step in SoftWatch's strategy to develop out-of-the-box solutions that can be easily integrated with enterprise systems. SRS 2.2 will allow customers to leverage their investments in Oracle. "SoftWatch will continue to develop best-of-breed eCRM applications for the healthcare industry that integrate with legacy and Internet systems for such mission-critical applications as data warehousing, sales force automation, document management, call center connectivity, and eventually ERP," said Evenhaim.

Customers will still be able to use SRS 2.2 to support stand-alone Web initiatives, but will also be able to create a unified e-business strategy that extends across an entire product portfolio. "This is particularly important to a pharmaceutical company which markets different drugs for different stages of the same disease or products for co-morbid conditions. As a patient progresses from one stage to the next, working from an integrated platform, the company can easily move the patient from one Web initiative to the next," explained Evenhaim.

Introduced on June 29, 2000, SRS 2.0 was the first proven, fully customizable eCRM platform designed exclusively for the healthcare industry, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and rapid deployment. SRS 2.2 enables customers to implement a broader range of healthcare customer relationship management and marketing initiatives, including professional and consumer portals and online patient support and disease management communities.
