SOCIETY OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONSULTANTS ANNOUNCES NEWLY ELECTED BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 1993-1994

 BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society of Telecommunications Consultants (STC) today announced their newly elected board of directors and officers. These board members were elected at the STC's Fall 1993 Conference, held in Breckenridge, Colo. earlier this month.
 Laura Sikorski, of Sikorski-Tuerpe & Associates in Centerport, N.Y., was elected as the STC's first woman president since its inception in 1976. Joining Sikorski as officers are Nate Mire, executive vice president (N.Y.); Shelley Miller, senior vice president (N.Y.); Steve Leaden, vice president (N.Y.); and Vera Holt-Murphree, vice president (Tenn.). These officers will serve a one-year term.
 Newly elected board members are Glen Banta (Calif.), Randy Burkart (N.J.), Dorothy Lockard (Mo.), and Murray Robinson (Ontario). These board members will serve a two-year term and join current board members Henry Baird (Wash.), Jim Farstad (Minn.), immediate past president Ben Sanford (Texas), and Les Spielman (Calif.).
 STC's Vendor Advisory Council also elected new board members in Breckenridge, Colo. They are President Jaynie Harrison (WilTel Communications Systems); Executive Vice President Glyn Simmons (BellSouth); Vice President/Secretary Tony Jaramillo (Pacific Bell); and Directors Alecia Daniel (Northern Telecom); Bob Lee (ROLM); Vince Krevinas (Access Conference Call Services); and Ashok Kumar (Hitachi America).
 "The STC has and will continue to make the difference in assisting the business community with finding experienced and ethical consultants. We firmly believe this mission as established by our founders," said President Sikorski.
 "During 1994, our goals will be to establish an STC Speaker's Bureau, increase the educational sessions at our semi-annual conferences, to attract more telecommunications and data managers, and establish a newsletter to the business community that will identify trends and solutions in our industry. Hiring an STC consultant assures objectivity and will save businesses time and ultimately money. Our members have their pulse on our constantly changing industry."
