SOCIETY CORPORATION NAMES JONES RETAIL CENTER EXECUTIVE, DIXON NAMED COLUMBUS DISTRICT PRESIDENT

 CLEVELAND, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert G. Jones has been named senior vice president and Retail Center executive for Society Corporation (NYSE: SCY). Jones has served as president of Society's Columbus District since 1990.
 Timothy D. Dixon has been named Columbus District president for Society National Bank. He most recently served as senior vice president, Commercial Banking, for the Cuyahoga East District of Society National Bank since April 1992.
 As Retail Center executive, Jones will have responsibility for the overall planning, development and support of Society's retail banking businesses, which operate through Society's regional banking franchise. Areas reporting to Jones include: Merchant Services, Product Management, Market Segments, Retail Training, Retail Marketing, Sales Management, Service Management, and Electronic Financial Services.
 Jones began his career at Society National Bank in Cleveland in 1979 as a management associate and joined Society in Columbus later that year. He served in both retail and commercial banking units in the district over the next several years and was named executive vice president and manager of Retail Banking in 1988. Jones received the 1988 Small Business Administration's Financial Services Advocate of the Year Award for the State of Ohio and the Banker Advocate Award by the Columbus Countywide Development Corporation in 1987.
 As Columbus District president, Dixon will direct and oversee the commercial, trust, retail and all other market activities for Society in the Columbus area.
 Dixon began at Society as a management trainee in 1980 and joined the Commercial Credit Division in 1981 as a credit analyst. He was named vice president and manager of Corporate Banking/Healthcare in 1987. In 1990, he was named vice president and manager of Commercial Banking in the Cuyahoga West District.
 Dixon earned a bachelor of arts degree in business economics from Macalester College.
