SOCCER: Wright-Phillips 'too dear for us'.

Arsene Wenger confirmed his desire to see Shaun Wright-Phillips in an Arsenal shirt one day - but admits he may not be able to afford the Manchester City winger.

Wenger, whose side face City tonight at Highbury, is an avowed admirer of Wright-Phillips.

Wenger admitted: "I have said many times that I follow his progress. But it is much quicker than expected and his price has gone up with that progress.

"I haven't been quoted a price, it is just what I read in the newspapers. But they say about pounds 20million, so that has gone to levels we could not afford."
