SNGPL sets up sale meter station in Karak area.

KARAK -- The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Friday inaugurated a sale meter station (SMS) in Nari Panos area thus, meeting the longstanding demand of the locals.

Speaking on the occasion, in-charge SNGPL Karak Engr Ismatullah Khan Gandapur said Nari Panos would be made a model village where all households would get gas connections.

He said the gas facility would be provided to the entire district in phases and claimed the low gas pressure issue would be resolved with the provision of legal gas connections.

He said with the installation of SMS the longstanding demand of the people of Nari Panos and Bahaderkhel union councils would be resolved.

Mr Gandapur recalled that the people of both the union councils had staged protests in the past, calling for setting up the SMS.

He said the low gas pressure issue was countrywide in winter season and asked the people to support the SNGPL in removing illegal gas connections which were causing gas-related incidents. He said the company would provide legal gas connections to the people whenever they submitted demand notices.

On the occasion, deputy commissioner Shafiullah Khan said the district administration was taking keen interest in resolving the basic problems of people. He supported the SNGPL for removing illegal gas connections.

Members of the gas action committee thanked the deputy commissioner and SNGPL for resolving the longstanding demand of the people.

JOURNALISTS BOYCOTT: Journalists on Friday decided to boycott the coverage of JUI-F events in protest against opposition leader in the district council Maulana Mirzaqeem for allegedly using abusive language against mediapersons.

The decision was made at a meeting held at the press club chaired by Shafiuddin Shafqi.

The participants expressed resentment over the attitude of Maulana Mirzaqeem with the journalists during the meeting of the district council.

They said Mr Mirzaqeem hurled serious threats against journalists thus, forcing them to boycott the activities of JUI-F.

They demanded of the party leadership to take notice of the incident, otherwise they would organise protests.
