SNA.PS GATEWAY v1.1 and SNA.PS 3270 v1.1 CONTINUES SHIPPING
CUPERTINO, Calif., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Apple Computer Inc.: Product Description:
The SNA.ps Gateway and SNA.ps 3270, first announced in June 1991, are now available with new features including 3287 printing and a 3270 Application Programming Interface (API). With these enhancements, Macintosh computer users can now print host output directly to Apple printers and run third party 3270-based terminal, front end, data base access, and client/server applications over SNA.ps connections. The software supports the Apple Token Ring 4/16 NB Card for industry standard Token-Ring networks, the Apple Serial NB Card for SNA/SDLC connections, and the Apple Coax/Twinax Card for cluster controller/DFT connectivity.
The SNA.ps Gateway and SNA.ps 3270 software are implemented on Apple's family of intelligent NuBus busmaster network interface cards, offering concurrent 3270 and APPC sessions and a choice of physical connections. This design gives users multiple gateways in a single machine and frees the main Macintosh processor in the gateway machine to concurrently run other applications such as file, print, and mail servers.

 vary.)
