SMITH ELECTED SENIOR V.P., SECRETARY AND GENERAL COUNSEL AT IMC FERTILIZER GROUP, INC.
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- IMC Fertilizer Group, Inc. (NYSE: IFL) announced today that Marschall I. Smith, 48, has been elected senior vice president, secretary and general counsel effective Sept. 1. He succeeds Peter Andress who retired June 30. Smith joins the company from Dallas-based American Medical International where he is senior vice president and general counsel. Smith earned a bachelor's degree in history from Princeton University in 1966, and graduated in 1973 from the University of Virginia Law School. He also earned an M.B.A. in 1987 from the University of Chicago. IMC Fertilizer is one of the world's leading producers of phosphate rock and potash, two basic crop nutrients.
