SMALL SCHOOLS: GRACE WEARS ALPHA CROWN.

Chad Kackert rushed for 382 yards and six touchdowns to lead Grace Brethren of Simi Valley to a 42-0 victory over Marshall at Oaks Christian on Friday night.

Kackert finished with 473 all-purpose yards and intercepted a pass. The victory clinched the Alpha League title for Grace Brethren (9-1, 3-0).

Kackert surpassed 2,000 yards rushing this season on a 9-yard carry with 7:05 remaining in the first quarter. Kackert finished the regular season with 2,278 rushing yards and 36 touchdowns.

Grace Brethren held Marshall of Pasadena (8-2, 1-2), the No. 3 team in Div. XII, to 46 total yards and four first downs.

In another Alpha League game:

--Montclair Prep 22, Whittier Christian 8: Marlon Yates was 9 of 12 for 163 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown pass to Josh Jennings for Montclair Prep of Panorama City at Whittier College.

Ethan Edwards rushed for 175 yards on 25 carries, including an 8-yard scoring run for Montclair Prep (7-3, 2-1).

Matt Wilson and Brenden Nakamine led a Montclair defense that allowed only 136 yards, all on the ground.

DEL REY LEAGUE

--Crespi 48, St. Bernard 6: Randle Harris rushed for 229 yards and four touchdowns for Crespi of Encino.

Harris scored on runs of 12, 11, 5 and 15 yards. Matt Wabby was 4 of 8 for 102 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Holt.

OLYMPIC LEAGUE

--Cerritos Valley Christian 33, Paraclete 11: Visiting Paraclete of Lancaster (4-6, 2-2) could do little to stop Valley Christian of Cerritos (9-1, 4-0) in its final game of the season.

TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE

--Oaks Christian 42, Nordhoff 24: Marc Tyler was a double threat with 114 yards rushing and 132 yards receiving with three touchdowns for Oaks Christian of Westlake Village.

Oaks Christian (10-0, 6-0) likely earned the No. 1 seed in the Div. XI playoffs with the victory at Nordhoff of Ojai (6-4, 4-2).

Nordhoff rallied in the second half, pulling within 35-24 with 5:37 left.

--Oak Park 42, Santa Paula 7: Gavin Ketchum scored three first-half touchdowns, including a 67-yard interception return, for visiting Oak Park.

Ketchum, who caught four passes for 142 yards, had scoring catches of 65 and 23 yards.

HIGH DESERT LEAGUE

--Mojave 41, Desert 8: Chris Stevens, Daniel Ashcraft and Leroy Hill each rushed for more than 100 yards for visiting Mojave.

Mojave (9-1, 5-0) clinched the league title with the victory.

--Rosamond 41, Kern Valley 13: Spencer Rodney had 20 carries for 234 yards and three touchdowns as host Rosamond (5-5, 3-2) clinched a playoff spot in Div. XII.

DELPHIC LEAGUE

--Brentwood 37, Campbell Hall 20: Campbell Hall of North Hollywood (7-3, 2-1) was shut out in the second half in a game that decided the Delphic League champion.

Brandon Scott rushed for 155 yards on 17 carries for Campbell Hall, including a 4-yard scoring run.

As the first half ended, Matt Jordan picked up the ball off a blocked field goal and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown to give Campbell Hall a 20-16 halftime lead.

PREP LEAGUE

--Flintridge Prep 34, Webb 18: Matt Tappin scored four first-half touchdowns for visiting Flintridge Prep of La Canada (2-6, 1-3).

Justin Fu gave Flintridge Prep a 34-0 lead with a 64-yard touchdown run on the second play of the second half.

NONLEAGUE

--Malibu 41, Villanova Prep 12: Malibu all but assured itself the school's first football playoff berth with the victory at home.

Malibu (9-1) does not play in a league and so must wait to see if it is chosen for an at-large berth to the Southern Section Div. XIII playoffs.

Miles Edman ran for 245 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries with two touchdowns, including 65 yards for a score. He also had a 22-yard touchdown pass. Andrew Heric ran for 99 yards and a touchdown.

--Rio Hondo Prep 19, Vasquez 3: Five turnovers and the inability to stop Landon Goodwell led to the end of a four-game winning streak for visiting Vasquez of Acton (7-3).

Against Prep League champion Rio Hondo Prep (8-2), Vasquez led 6-3 at halftime.

But Vasquez couldn't contain Goodwell, who rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.

--Viewpoint 9, Desert Christian 7: Spencer Brown caught a 13-yard pass in the corner of the end zone from Ryan Tellez as time expired in the first half for host Viewpoint of Calabasas (3-7) at Calabasas High School.

Desert Christian (1-9) moved inside the Viewpoint 30 with 6 seconds left, but Evan Gates sacked quarterback Jordan Jenison to end the game.
