SKYWEST DELTA CONNECTION REPORTS MARCH TRAFFIC

ST. GEORGE, Utah, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Delta Connection (NASDAQ: SKYW) today reported its March 1993 traffic. Passenger boardings for the month totaled 135,009, a 10.8 percent increase over March 1992. Revenue passenger mile (RPM) growth again outpaced available seat mile (ASM) growth, resulting in a 44.8 percent load factor -- up 1.9 percentage points over the prior year. The airline generated 26.4 million RPMs for the month, an increase of 13.3 percent over the same period last year, while ASMs increased 8.4 percent to 58.9 million.
SkyWest Senior Vice President of Marketing Ron Reber notes the airline finished its fiscal year with revenue passenger growth exceeding available seat miles for all but one month during the year. "Our airline's performance continues to outpace the economic recovery of our service area." He said the airline's potential for continued growth remains strong as major carriers reallocate their larger jet aircraft and shift traffic to their code-sharing partners.
SkyWest Airlines operates as a Delta Connection under a marketing agreement with Delta Air Lines. The regional airline serves 42 cities in the Western United States. Operating 50 aircraft, the airline completes more than 550 flights daily.
