SKYWEST AIRLINES REPORTS DECEMBER TRAFFIC

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Delta Connection reported continued strong growth for the month of December 1993. The airline enplaned 139,818 passengers, up 12.8 percent over last year. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) likewise grew 17.2 percent over the prior year to just over 28 million, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 8.2 percent to 61.4 million. Load factor, too, was up 3.6 percentage points to 45.8 percent.
Commenting on the performance, SkyWest Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Service Ron Reber said, "December is always the most challenging month in terms of holidays, inclement weather and traditionally slow business traffic, so we are especially pleased to see these positive results. We continue to expect strong performances in both our ski and warm-weather winter markets."
SkyWest Airlines operates as a Delta Connection carrier under a marketing agreement with Delta Air Lines. The regional airline serves 40 cities in the western United States. Operating 21 EMB-120 Brasilias and 30 Fairchild Metroliners, the airline completes over 510 flights daily.
