SKYWEST AIRLINES REPORTS CONTINUED GROWTH IN APRIL

ST. GEORGE, Utah, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Airlines (NASDAQ: SKYW) has reported continued growth in traffic for the month of April. The airline generated 24.3 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for the month, an increase of 16.4 percent over the same period last year, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 7.5 percent to 57.4 million. Passenger boardings for April totaled 124,667, a 13.4 percent increase over April 1992. The operations effected a 42.4 percent load factor, up 3.2 percent from the same month last year.
Management is pleased with April's results, particularly as RPM growth continued to outpace ASM growth. "Our objective was to grow profitability before capacity," said SkyWest Senior Vice President Marketing Rob Reber. "We have achieved that goal 18 of the last 19 months, including April. It's encouraging to start our fiscal year off on this positive note."
SkyWest Airlines operates as a Delta Connection under a marketing agreement with Delta Air Lines. The regional airline serves 42 cities in the western United States. Operating 50 aircraft, the airline completes more than 510 flights daily.
