SKYLINE GOLD CORP. ANNOUNCES AZTEC EXPLORATION RESULTS AND ISKUT UPDATE

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Skyline Gold Corp. (Toronto, Vancouver: SKX) reports additional exploration results from its Aztec copper, silver, zinc, and lead property in Coahuila State, Mexico. The property is a large tonnage breccia deposit on which 810 meters of surface trenching has been completed together with 50 test pits to assist in geological mapping and bedrock sampling. A total of 110 samples have been received and analyzed by Rossbacher Laboratory in Burnaby, British Columbia. These samples represent only two-thirds of the total samples taken and all contain anomalous to very high-grade levels of metal. The chip samples ranged from one meter to 15 meters in length and were taken from bedrock surface where grades are expected to be low because of leaching. Assays for copper ranged from a low of 0.01 percent to 6.30 percent, for silver from 0.01 ounces per ton to 72.03 ounces per ton, for zinc 0.02 percent to 4.68 percent and lead 0.01 percent to 64.80 percent.
Analysis of the geologic mapping of the trenches and test pits has also determined that the structure which was thought to be two small breccias is in fact a single larger breccia measuring approximately 2,000 feet by 660 feet. The single large breccia is partly covered by younger volcanic rocks and is thought to be larger than presently mapped according to David Yeager, P. Geo. and chief geologist for Skyline. Exploration on the property will continue this summer with an induced polarization geophysical survey and preliminary diamond drilling when an exploration camp is installed.
Ronald C. Shon, chairman and chief executive officer, of Skyline also reported that exploration on the company's Johnny Mountain Mine will commence with surface and underground drilling in June. Initial exploration drilling will be concentrated on the Zephrin zone with the objective of proving up sufficient mineable ore reserves to allow the mine to be reopened and operated on a campaign basis this year. A minimum of two months of production grading 0.6 ounces of gold per ton will be required. The exploration program will have as a primary objective a much larger ore reserve to permit sustained mining operations next spring.
The exploration program will also include an induced polarization geophysical survey of the large Bronson Creek copper/gold/porphyry system. This porphyry system has already been drilled for veins of high grade gold. It now will be explored for its large low-grade copper/gold/porphyry potential. Al Burgoyne, a consulting geologist to Skyline, indicated in his report to the company that the Bronson Creek porphyry has the potential of being a mineralized deposit of at least 100 million tons based on earlier drilling. Excellent I.P. targets are expected with drilling being planned to explore the most promising target identified.
