SKYGAS VENTURE ENTERS AGREEMENT

SPOKANE, Wash., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- MPM Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPML) said today that its Skygas venture partner USF Smogless S.p.A. has signed a cooperation agreement with Tecnoparco Valbasento to install in the Pisticci Scalo area (Matera, Italy) a Skygas system for the gasification of organic materials.

MPM President Charles Romberg stated that "we are enthusiastic about the agreement as it is another step in the commercialization of the Skygas technology which will help set up larger economic opportunities that are currently being negotiated." He further stated that, "at the request of USF Smogless, MPM is not at liberty to disclose further details regarding the agreement until the finalization of a formal agreement." Romberg expects this to take place within 60 - 90 days.

Skygas is a patented process for converting carbonaceous materials into clean-burning medium BTU fuel gas which can be used to generate steam for electrical power generation or for conversion into a variety of valuable chemicals.

Skygas venture partners include USF Smogless, Milan, Italy, a subsidiary of Untied States Filter Corp. (NYSE: USF) headquartered in Palm Desert, CA, and Unitel Technologies, Inc. of Mt. Prospect, IL.
