NEW YORK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Oksana Baiul, the 15 year-old skating champion from the Ukraine who emerged from obscurity and went on to stun the world with a Gold Medal winning performance this past weekend at the World Championship competition in Prague, has just been added to the cast of Campbell's Soups 1993 Tour of World Figure Skating Champions. Skating's newest international star will make her American debut when she joins Brian Boitano, Torvill & Dean, Viktor Petrenko and 26 other Olympic and World Champion ice skaters from eight countries in a 43-city (complete itinerary follows) American tour that begins April 22 and plays through June 23. Tom Collins Enterprises is producing the tour. Tickets are currently on sale throughout the United States. Check local listings for details.

With a triumphant performance and a charismatic personality that charmed the world, Oksana, in only her third competition, is now the youngest World Champion since Sonja Henie in 1927. She began skating at four years old, just after her father died. Her mother passed away from cancer in 1990 and she lived as an orphan at her skating club. In 1992, Oksana moved to Odessa to live and train with Galina Zmievskaya, who coached Viktor Petrenko on to Olympic glory. With the financial support of Petrenko and Jill Trenary as a skating mentor, Oksana won the Ukrainian National Championship and placed second at the European Championship earlier this year. Oksana Baiul -- the best female skater in the world today -- has emerged as a blazing star and the future of ice skating -- the world's most popular winter sport.
"In the thirteen years I've been producing this tour, I have never witnessed such a phenomenal emergence of a figure skating star like Oksana Baiul. Her skill on the ice and the way she relates to an audience -- at 15 years old -- are simply magnificent. We are truly thrilled she is joining the tour," noted Collins.
The cast of Campbell's Soups 1993 Tour of World Figure Skating Champions features an unprecedented gathering of 30 of the best international mens, dance, womens and pairs skaters, who collectively have won more than 45 medals. It includes:
