SIZZLER NAMES MCDANIEL EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS; ALSO ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF DUNCAN AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Wayne F. McDaniel, 46, has been promoted to the post of executive vice president, operations of Sizzler International Inc. (NYSE: SZ)
The company also announced that J. Hugh Duncan has resigned as of today's date from Sizzler International where he had held the posts of chief operating officer of Sizzler International and president, Sizzler U.S.A. since February 1992. Duncan's duties will be assumed by Richard P. Bermingham, president and chief executive officer of Sizzler International.
Duncan joined Sizzler with the personal expectation that he would ultimately succeed to the position of president of Sizzler International Inc. Because of philosophical differences, he does not feel this will be the case and has decided to seek other opportunities.
Duncan was previously chairman, Duncan Properties Inc. and president, Foote, Cone and Belding, Los Angeles.
McDaniel joined the company in 1985 as regional vice president, Los Angeles. In 1988 he transferred to Northern California, also serving there as a regional vice president. In 1991 he was promoted to group vice president of the Northwest. A graduate of Rider College, McDaniel began his restaurant career in 1963 with Howard Johnson's. During his 21 years with that company, he held a number of executive positions, culminating as regional vice president.
Sizzler International Inc. operates or licenses 695 Sizzler restaurants worldwide, consisting of 281 company-operated, four joint ventured and 410 franchised restaurants. In addition, the company operates 79 Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants in Queensland, Australia.
