SISCOM ANNOUNCES NEWSPRO(TM) SALES TO WAAY-TELEVISION
BOULDER, Colo., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Satellite Information

Systems Company (OTC Bulletin Board: SATI) (SISCOM), a developer of NewsPro(TM) broadcast newsroom automation systems, today announced a contract to provide WAAY-Television in Huntsville, Ala., with a newsroom automation system. Terms were not disclosed.
WAAY-TV, operated by ABC affiliate Rocket City Television, is the 24-hour news source for the Huntsville-Decator-Florence market.
Robert Turner, SISCOM's director of marketing, said the system will initially be hosted on an interim CPU provided by SISCOM and will be transferred to a new equipment configuration as part of a stationwide upgrade scheduled for early summer, in addition to supporting WAAY's existing printers and terminals, the system will include SISCOM's prompter and closed captioning, and will provide support for existing Electronic Still Store (ESS) and character generators including elections, school closings and a sports ticker. The system was installed at the end of March.
"WAAY-Television has a reputation in their market for both journalistic and technical excellence, so we're very pleased with their selection of SISCOM's NewsPro." He added that WAAY-TV has an aggressive rollout planned for the new system.
Cliff Windham, executive news director for WAAY-TV and chairman of the procurement, said the station was seeking to maximize their existing system and found that SISCOM was the only full-power computer service that could provide them with compatible software and hardware.
"NewsPro offers all of the important features that we require in a newsroom computer system," Windham said.
SISCOM's NewsPro automates the editorial and production control aspects of broadcast news operations and provides information management facilities for use by organizations in the print media, public affairs, press relations and image industries.
SISCOM, with 28 installations worldwide, has customers affiliated with all three major networks as well as cable-based television, radio broadcasters and independent broadcast organizations.
