EVEN as Bollywood star and senior BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha kept away from campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections in his home state, his party roped in popular actor Ajay Devgn to canvass support for its candidates.

Addressing rallies in Jamui, Lakhisarai and Nawada districts to seek votes for NDA candidates, the Singham actor made reference to his own hit movies, Gangaajal and Apharan, to underline lawlessness in Bihar in the past.

" Incidents of murder, kidnapping and loot in daylight used to be the order of the day in Bihar which were portrayed well in Gangaajal and Apharan, " he said. " I came to know about the situation through my movies." Devgn, who had last visited Bihar to promote his movie, Son of Sardaar, a couple of years ago, said the people had now made up their mind to elect the NDA government in the state.

In an unfortunate turn of events, a miscreant threw a shoe at the superstar.
