SILVER KING COMMUNICATIONS, INC. ANNOUNCES BOARD CHANGES

 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Silver King Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKTV) announced today that James M. Lawless, who was elected to the company's board of directors on Jan. 11, 1994 was appointed president, effective Jan. 12, 1994. Lawless replaces Jeffrey M. McGrath as president, who will remain chairman of the board of directors of the company.
 Lawless has more than 26 years of experience in television broadcasting, including 21 years with UHF television stations. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Home Shopping Club, Inc., the primary operating subsidiary of Home Shopping Network, Inc. ("HSN"), from January 1990 until May 1993. Lawless served as senior vice president of Network Operations at HSN from October 1987 until January 1990. From January 1987 through October 1987, he served as vice president and station manager of the company's station KHSC-TV, Ontario, Calif. Lawless served as director of Low Power Television of the company from June 1993 until his appointment as president.
 Additionally, Russell I. Pillar has been appointed to the board of directors of the company, effective Jan. 12, 1994. Pillar is the chief executive officer, president and a director of Precision Systems, Inc. ("PSi"), a company which designs, manufactures and sells integrated, interactive voice response technologies and call processing systems to end users who typically require high-volume call handling capabilities. PSi is a former subsidiary spun off from HSN. Before joining PSi, Pillar was a founding partner in Critical Mass, a technology consulting firm. From March 1991 through October 1991, he was president of Japanese Capital Affiliates, Inc. ("JCA"). From April 1989 through March 1991, Pillar was executive vice president of JCA. Prior to founding JCA, pillar was with Merrill Lynch Capital Market's Japan Banking Group, both in New York and Los Angeles.
 Silver King Communications, Inc. owns and operates 12 independent full-power UHF broadcast television stations which serve 8 of the 12 largest markets in the United States, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and the stations reach approximately 28 million television households.
