 SILICON GRAPHICS REPORTS $184 MILLION IN REVENUE
 FOR THIRD FISCAL QUARTER
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE:SGI) today reported net revenues of $184 million for the fiscal quarter ending March 31, 1992. This represents an increase of 39 percent over revenues of $133 million for the same quarter a year earlier. Net income for the quarter increased to $12 million, or $.22 per share, compared with net income of $3 million or $.07 per share in the same period for the prior fiscal year. For the first nine months of this fiscal year, the Company reported net revenues of $524 million, an increase of 36 percent over the same period for the prior fiscal year. Net income was $36 million for the nine month period ended March 31, 1992 or $.61 per share, compared with net income of $23 million or $.51 per share in the same period for the prior fiscal year.
 "The year-over-year growth in revenues for both the quarter and the nine month period is indicative of the underlying strength and momentum of our market, and is gratifying in this economic environment. The market's enthusiastic reception of our IRIS IndigoTM products was evident as our unit shipments increased 35 percent over the immediately prior quarter. We're continuing to gain market share in the highly competitive, low priced marketplace by delivering truly affordable, value added systems and we're delighted," said Edward R. McCracken, Silicon Graphics' president and CEO. "Our customers also responded enthusiastically to the new, R4000-based IRIS Crimson(TM) product which we began shipping during the quarter. With the addition of Crimson, we've created the most complete visual computing product line in the industry," McCracken concluded.
