SILICON GRAPHICS REDUCES ENTRY INDIGO PRICE

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE: SGI) today announced a 13-percent reduction in the price of the entry model of its highly successful IRIS Indigo(TM) R3000(R) RISC PC from $7,995 to $6,995 effective immediately. This new pricing further broadens the accessibility of the Indigo(TM) family's advanced 3D graphics, digital media and easy-to-use Indigo Magic(TM) software tools for creative and technical professionals.
"The entry Indigo system continues to enjoy tremendous success by appealing to a variety of new customers for Silicon Graphics," said Jay Kidd, director of product marketing for Silicon Graphics' Digital Sight and Sound division. "Silicon Graphics' desktop system revenues grew by approximately 50 percent in a year in which the workstation industry did not meet industry analysts' expectations. We anticipate this pricing move will fuel our momentum and further increase our market share."
