 SIME DARBY SYSTEMS TO DISTRIBUTE IRIS 4D PRODUCTS
 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE: SGI) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary in Singapore, Silicon Graphics Pte. Ltd., has signed an agreement with Sime Darby Systems to distribute Silicon Graphics' entire line of IRIS 4D(TM) visual computing systems and servers in Malaysia and Brunei. The relationship marks Silicon Graphics' formal entry into Malaysia and reflects the growing maturity of the visual computing industry in Asia.
 "As Malaysia moves toward Vision 2020, a national endeavor to make Malaysia a fully developed country by the year 2020, there will be a greater need for our advanced UNIX and 3D graphics technology in the geoscience, industrial design and research and development fields," said David Webster, ASEAN region director Silicon Graphics Pte. Ltd., Singapore. "We aim to bring visual computing to the open systems market at an affordable price, allowing the professional user to take advantage of this powerful technology and to be better able to compete in the world market."
