SILICON GRAPHICS AND SIEMENS NIXDORF ENTER
INTO WORLDWIDE STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE: SGI) and Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG today announced that they have entered into a long-term, strategic relationship in the field of workstation and server products. This relationship includes Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) distribution, software licensing and mutual licensing of
selected technology. Siemens Nixdorf intends to market Silicon Graphics' line of IRIS 4D(TM) systems within its strategic core product line, which the two companies expect to be worth $100 million in sales for Silicon Graphics over three years.
Siemens Nixdorf will have unrestricted, nonexclusive worldwide marketing rights for all Silicon Graphics products. These products will include Silicon Graphics' recently introduced IRIS Indigo(TM), and IRIS POWER Series(TM) systems.

Both partners are active participants in the Advanced Computing Environment (ACE) initiative. The ACE initiative includes more than 200 companies dedicated to promoting a standards-based open computing environment for a new class of advanced computing systems. This relationship will accelerate the availability of ACE systems worldwide and is an important step in making the Advanced RISC Computing (ARC) specification a standard in the industry.
