SIJC: Polarizations might drag us into the abyss.

NNA - Continued polarizations amid extremist posturing, might drag us all into the abyss, the Supreme Islamic Jurisprudence Council (SIJC) warned in its press release today. Having convened at in regular session at Dar-el Fatwa 9High Islamic Court)under Sunni mufti Abdullatif Deryan, the SIJC, expressed deep concern at the level of disagreement between leaders over resolving the present crisis saying priority lies in electing a new president at the advent of Lebanon's Independence Day. Clerics have also warned against a likely confessional strife in Arsal following yesterday's bombings arguing that legislations at the House might help avert such an eventuality. Also imploring factions to facilitate Tammam Salam's decision-making task, clerics regretted government ineptness in garbage disposal and attending to people's vital concerns. The SIJC implored Arab-Muslim leaders to support Palestinian steadfastness in the face of criminal Israeli malpractices against Jerusalem amid daily encroachment on the precincts of al-Aqsa Mosque. ============G.G./R.K.
