SIGNAL TECHNOLOGY ACQUIRES QUADRI ELECTRONICS CORP. A PRODUCER OF ELECTRONICS FOR SPACE AND DEFENSE MARKETS

 SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Signal Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: STCX), headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., announced today that it has acquired Quadri Electronics Corp., based in Chandler, Ariz., a manufacturer of products for defense, space and commercial markets. Financial terms of the acquisition were not released.
 Quadri designs and manufactures power management products and magnetic core memories. The power management products, power supplies and converters, are used in countermeasure and intelligence gathering systems for the defense market as well as for space and commercial applications. Magnetic core memories are used primarily in military computing applications when non-volatile radiation resistant memories are required. Quadri president, Samuel W. Johnson, and its' employees will relocate to Signal's ST Microwave Operations in Chandler.
 Dale L. Peterson, president and chief executive officer of Signal Technology Corporation, said the purchase is part of the company's acquisition strategy for growth in a downsizing defense industry. Over its' twelve year history, Signal has acquired companies and products to complement its' existing technology and markets.
 Signal Technology designs, develops and manufactures low cost, high quality frequency generation, power management and frequency management and control products for defense industry and commercial markets.
