SIGNAL CORPORATION AWARDED $5 MILLION U.S. ARMY CONTRACT SIGNAL to Host and Maintain Joint Computer Aided Logistics Support Web Site FAIRFAX, Va., May 6, 2002 - SIGNAL Corporation, a leading information technology and engineering & management services company, has announced the award of a $5 million, 5-year contract from the U.S. Army. SIGNAL will provide web hosting, maintenance, and enhancements to the Joint Computer Aided Logistics Support (JCALS) web site for the Army's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) in Fort Monmouth, N.J. SIGNAL will utilize Joseph N. Golubov Associates, Inc. (JGA) as a subcontractor on this effort. The mandate of the JCALS is to provide a paperless digital environment for managing the support of Department of Defense business areas. The web site is a central point of information for training materials, IT support information, and IT news, helping the JCALS achieve their mission of developing a basic infrastructure system to provide interconnectivity and data management for acquisition and logistic functional areas. "The Army has done a superb job in harnessing the ubiquity and accessibility of the Internet to better disseminate and share information between departments," said SIGNAL President & CEO Roger Mody. "With this award, we look forward to supporting the U.S. Army's online migration of key functions through JCALS. "Work began on April 10, 2002.
