SIERRA TUCSON COMPANIES INC. ANNOUNCES ADOLESCENT FACILITY PERFORMANCE

 SIERRA TUCSON COMPANIES INC. ANNOUNCES
 ADOLESCENT FACILITY PERFORMANCE
TUCSON, Ariz., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Sierra Tucson Companies Inc. (NASDAQ: STSN) today announced that the Adolescent Care Facility will not break-even in the fourth quarter 1991.
William T. O'Donnell Jr., chairman of the board and chief executive officer, said, "While admissions at the Adolescent Care Facility have been encouraging, we believe that parental reluctance to send adolescents to treatment through the extended holiday season has had a significant effect on performance in our first three months of operations. Initial analysts' estimates anticipated break-even for the facility by year end.
"While performances at the main facility and the eating addictions facility remain strong, we anticipate that we will not meet analysts' current expectations for fourth quarter and as a result year end 1991. The company will still experience in excess of 50 percent earnings per share growth year-to-year over 1990. The Sierra Gramisch facility shows continued improvement and we expect a positive contribution in 1992. We continue to focus on existing operational expenses as they relate to our growth.
"Our balance sheet is virtually debt free and we have a very strong current ratio. We are generating positive cash flows, collections are improving, our days outstanding have improved and revenues and earnings will reach record levels in 1991."
