      SIERRA LAUNCHES EDUCATION LINE WITH CASTLE OF DR. BRAIN;
        A JOURNEY INTO MIND-BOGGLING ADVENTURES AND CRAZY FUN
    COARSEGOLD, Calif., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- This fall's premiere educational game from Sierra On-Line, "Castle of Dr. Brain," has been released today for MS-DOS. Billed as genius gymnastics on a computer, this mind-twisting odyssey promises to challenge and entertain young minds for hours on end.
    With the ultimate goal of becoming Dr. Brain's lab assistant, applicants explore his puzzle-filled castle, unraveling scientific mysteries behind every door. Along the way, children will experiment with time, astronomy, robotics, codes, logic and math. In the end, candidates must match their newly learned principles to "real life" job skills before earning the coveted lab assistant position.
    "Each puzzle should stretch the players' minds to the limit, but not frustrate them," said Corey Cole, best known for the "Quest for Glory" series and designer of "Dr. Brain," "I want them to have fun, while bending their brains."
    In addition to a full-stereo "rock music" soundtrack and beautifully hand-painted backgrounds, "Dr. Brain" features three skill levels, each measurably more difficult than the previous, making "Dr. Brain" playable again and again.
    As part of its strategy to become the leader in home education software, Sierra plans to release two additional educational games this fall: "Mixed-Up Fairy Tales," a magical journey into literary classics for early readers, and "EcoQuest 1: The Search for Cetus," an undersea adventure with realistic environmental hazards.
    "Castle of Dr. Brain" is shipping with two 3.5-inch High Density or eight 5.25-inch 360K disks. All major sound cards are supported and a hard disk is required. Suggested retail price is $49.95. An EGA version will be available separately. "Dr. Brain" is targeted at adults and children ages 12 and up. Packaged with the game is the popular Fantastic Book of Logic Puzzles, a collection of the world's most celebrated and baffling puzzles.
    Sierra On-Line, located in Oakhurst, Calif., develops and publishes entertainment and education products for home computers. It is one of the oldest and largest developers of home computer applications.
