SIERRA ANNOUNCES FILING OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS

 OAKHURST, Calif., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sierra On-Line Inc. (NASDAQ: SIER) announced today that two class action complaints were filed against the company and certain of its officers and directors. The complaints were received on Jan. 5, 1993 and allege violations of federal securities law.
 The actions were filed in the U.S. District Court in Sacramento, Calif. on Dec. 17 and 18, 1992. The company believes that the suits are without merit, denies the allegations contained in the complaints and intends to defend the suits vigorously.
 Sierra On-Line Inc., along with its wholly owned subsidiaries, Dynamix Inc. and Bright Star Technology Inc. publishes entertainment and educational software for IBM PCs and PC-compatibles and Apple Macintosh computers.
