SIEMENS STROMBERG-CARLSON TO PROVIDE AMERITECH WITH AIN 0.1 PLATFORM

BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens Stromberg-Carlson today announced it has reached an agreement with Ameritech to provide Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) 0.1 Service Switching Points (SSPs) via its EWSD(R) central office switching systems. The SSPs are part of the AIN 0.1 architecture that enables Ameritech to deliver new network services in a timely manner. The added flexibility and functionality of AIN 0.1 will enable Ameritech to offer subscribers services such as Multi-Location Extension Dialing and Outgoing Call Restriction.

"As the foundation of the future telecommunications network, AIN architecture will continue to evolve, and Siemens Stromberg-Carlson is committed to its development. Work is already under way on AIN 0.2."
