SIEMENS CHOOSES LTX FOR NEXT GENERATION OF LINEAR TESTERS

WESTWOOD, Mass., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LTX Corporation (OTC: LTXX) announced today that Siemens Semiconductor Group has selected LTX as their preferred supplier of next generation linear test systems. After an intensive evaluation, Siemens has placed an order, worth more than $1.5 million, for multiple Synchro II HT test systems for their facilities in both Europe and the Far East.
The systems that LTX will supply will be configured with options for RF, video and telecom applications, including the 4 GHz RF02 option, the VMS08 video option and the new TVIF01 video IF modulator. LTX will also supply several device test solutions together with technical support to Siemens' engineering groups and will be responsible for integrating the test system into production with electrical and mechanical interfaces to Siemens' current standards. The systems will be used by Siemens for volume production testing of a wide range of existing and future components including GSM mobile phone chips above 1.8 GHz, video, AM/FM radio devices as well as telecom devices such as SLICs.
In what is seen as a long term LTX/Siemens partnership, Siemens chose the Synchro test system for its very low cost of ownership. "We were pleased with LTX's flexibility and their ability to provide applications solutions and low cost production testing for our advanced devices," commented a Siemens' spokesman.
LTX Corporation is a leading supplier of linear, digital, mixed-signal and discrete semiconductor test equipment and offers a line of related networking products. Headquartered in Westwood, Mass., LTX has worldwide sales and service facilities to support its customer base.
