SHRINERS' PATIENTS ATTEND PHILADELPHIA THANKSGIVING PARADE

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- David Melrose, general manager of the Holiday Inn at 18th and Market streets, here, will host the second annual pre-Thanksgiving parade breakfast for the patients at the Philadelphia Unit of Shriners Hospitals.
The caravan, 12 patients accompanied by parents and staff, will arrive at the hotel between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m. This will be a "first" for the patients, some of whom have never been to a parade.
Following breakfast (8th floor-executive board room), the patients will watch the parade outside directly in front of the hotel. In the event of inclement weather, the patients will watch the parade from the executive board room.
The Holiday Inn management has had the commitment of "giving back to community." In keeping with that tradition and as part of the holiday festivities, the hotel staff will be providing extra sunshine and bringing smiles to the patients. "Although the Holiday Inn is undergoing a $10 million renovation, we are delighted that our patients have been invited to take part of this traditional American holiday," commented Randy Wilson, director of Recreational Therapy at Shriners.
The Philadelphia Unit of Shriners specializes in diseases of the bones, joints, muscles, and spinal cord injury. These services are provided free to children from birth to 18 years of age.
