SHOWBIZ: Back on the ward; CASUALTY SAT, BBC1, 8.50pm.
This Comic Relief special of the drama guest stars Angus Deayton and Sylvia Simms - plus legendary nurse Megan Roach makes a return visit.
Megan's grandson is admitted for selfharming and his story, along with one about an asylum seeker and an incident of elder abuse, reflects some of Comic Relief's concerns.
It's 17 years since the no-nonsense nurse was in Holby General. She says to Charlie: "It's like I never left. I miss this place - the buzz, thinking on your feet, making a difference."
The actress Brenda Fricker left the show to work in films after winning an Oscar for My Left Foot.
The episode is by Richard Curtis, who is a founder of Comic Relief, but better known as writer of hit movies like Bridget Jones and Love Actually. And he balances the serious issues of Megan's grandson - and Sylvia Simm's sad tale of elder abuse - with poking fun at gueststar Angus Deayton, who plays himself.
When Deayton is rude to the staff on Red Nose Day, Sam asks him: "Are you in a sponsored pretend to be a grumpy git?"
Then Sam tricks Deayton into hosting the slave auction for charity and there's red noses and red faces all round.
Enjoy it but don't forget what it's all about - to raise some cash for good causes. Dig deep and give what you can.
