SHOW EXPERTISE PAYS DIVIDENDS.
The Uwchaled young farmer claimed top marks in the stock-judging competitions in the county federation's Field Day at Ruthin livestock market.
Just a mark behind was Morgan Spencer, 15, of Whitford YFC. Third was Heledd Owen, 25, of Uwchaled club.
Competitors were asked to assess dairy cattle, butchers beef, pigs and lambs - and complete an animal health questionnaire.
Junior stockman of the year - and winning the Eric Edwards Cup - was Uwchaled's Dion Edwards, 18. Sion Eilir Roberts, 16, of Ruthin YFC, was second, and Iolo Francis, 16, of Llangollen YFC, third.
Best senior stockjudging team overall was provided by Whitford YFC, with Betws yn Rhos having the best junior team.
"We had a great day's competing and would like to thank all our judges and stewards for their tireless work," said Eleri Roberts, Clwyd YFC county organiser.
The winners will represent Clwyd in the national Field Day finals next month.
