Being a long-time Seef Mall customer, I have noticed that whenever there is a downpour, the south side of the mall car park becomes deluged and there are no gutters to get rid of storm water. The management employs old and outdated method of bringing in water tankers.

A few days ago, they closed this parking lot and I imagined that finally, after a few years of neglect, they are going to install rain water outlets. But to my surprise they only provided some concrete curbstones. I enquired with the site foreman whether they were going to install rain water outlets. His answer was negative and he further elaborated that there were no rain water pipes that they can connect it to.

I informed him that the adjacent road had rain water outlets.

One thing is quite clear and it is worth mentioning here that there are a lot of vehicles that use this car park and whenever there is a downpour all the cars go to other car parks, which causes a great deal of traffic congestion since there are few car parks during peak shopping hours.

I would like to suggest to Seef Mall management that it is about time they consider installing storm water outlets as this will provide more convenience for customers and avoid traffic congestions.
