SHOPKO STORES REPORTS NOVEMBER SALES GREEN BAY, Wis., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- ShopKo Stores, Inc.
(NYSE: SKO) reported total sales for the four weeks ended Nov. 30, 1991 were $169.4 million, a decline of 0.7 percent from the $169.6 million reported for the same period last year. Comparable store sales decreased 4.8 percent.
The company estimated that comparable store sales were negatively impacted by 7.9 percent after adjusting for the shift in the Thanksgiving holiday and the resulting seven fewer days of post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping in the month of November this year. For the cumulative 43 weeks ended Nov. 30, 1991, total sales rose 6.0 percent to $1.267 billion from $1.195 billion. Comparable store sales were up 0.9 percent for the 43 weeks.
